Revenue Splits
Every revenue stream has a clear, fixed split. No tiers, no variable rates, no fine print.
Music Streaming
Per-stream rate: ~€0.004. Revenue is calculated monthly based on your total play count relative to all plays on the platform.
Live Events & Concerts
From ticket sales and event registrations. You set your own ticket price. Free events have no fees.
Online Lessons
From private and group lesson bookings. You set your own hourly rate and availability.
Gig Bookings
From concert and event bookings made through NISH. You approve every booking before it's confirmed.
What the Platform Fee Covers
Copyright & Ownership
You own everything
- 100% copyright retained. You are the sole owner of your music. NISH never claims ownership of your recordings or compositions.
- Non-exclusive license. You grant NISH a non-exclusive license to stream your music on the platform. You can distribute your music anywhere else simultaneously — Spotify, Bandcamp, your own website, everywhere.
- Revoke anytime. You can remove your music from NISH at any time with immediate effect. No lock-in period. No penalties.
- No derivative works. NISH will never remix, sample, or create derivative works from your music without explicit written permission.
How Plays Are Counted
A play is counted when a listener streams at least 30 seconds of your track. This prevents accidental plays from inflating your numbers.
Play counts are updated in real-time and visible in your artist dashboard.
Revenue is calculated using a pro-rata model: your share of total platform plays determines your share of total streaming revenue for that period.
Example: If your tracks received 10,000 plays out of 100,000 total platform plays in a month, you receive 10% of the streaming revenue pool, multiplied by your 70% artist share.
Payouts
Payment method: Stripe Connect. You connect your bank account through Stripe's secure onboarding — NISH never sees your bank details.
Payout schedule: Monthly, processed on the 1st of each month for the previous month's earnings.
Minimum payout: €10. If your balance is below €10, it rolls over to the next month. No expiration.
Currency: All amounts in EUR. Stripe handles currency conversion to your local currency at their standard exchange rate.
Reporting: Full earnings breakdown available in your dashboard — by track, by revenue source, by month. Export to CSV anytime.

Review Process
Uploaded tracks start as drafts. You can preview and edit them before publishing.
When you publish a track, it goes live immediately — no approval queue. We trust our artists.
If we receive a valid copyright complaint, we'll contact you before taking any action. We follow standard DMCA/notice-and-takedown procedures.
We reserve the right to remove content that violates our community guidelines (hate speech, explicit violence). Handpan music has never had this problem and we don't expect it to start.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I upload music that's already on Spotify?
Absolutely. Our license is non-exclusive. Upload the same tracks everywhere — NISH, Spotify, Bandcamp, your website. No restrictions.
What if I want to remove my music later?
Go to your dashboard, select the track, and archive or delete it. It's removed from the platform immediately. Any pending earnings are still paid out.
Do I need to pay anything to join?
No. NISH is free for artists. We only earn when you earn. No subscription, no upload fees, no hidden costs.
How do I get paid?
Through Stripe Connect. You connect your bank account once in your dashboard settings. Payouts happen monthly, automatically.
Can I see exactly how much I've earned?
Yes. Your dashboard shows real-time earnings by track, by revenue source (streaming, events, lessons, bookings), and by month. Full transparency.
What about taxes?
Stripe provides tax reporting tools. You're responsible for your own taxes as an independent artist. We provide all the data you need.
