Discussion: The PANArt & Hang Story

Fascinating history of how it all began. What are your thoughts on PANArt's approach? Did anyone here ever write one of those letters? Read the full article on the NISH Blog.

I actually wrote one of those letters in 2010. Never heard back. Found a second-hand Hang years later and it was worth the wait — the sound quality is something else entirely.

Whether you agree with their approach or not, we owe them everything. No Hang = no handpan community. Period.

I got to play a friend's original Hang last month. The sustain is unreal — like nothing I've heard on any modern handpan.
